Bio
Jordan Sibley graduated in 2023 from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) with a degree in Aquatic Biology. During her undergraduate career, she was a research assistant in a marine ecology lab studying sandy beach ecosystems as part of a long-term ecological research project. Her passion for fieldwork and studying coastal ecosystems was further fostered after graduation when she worked as a wetland field technician for the SONGS Mitigation Monitoring program at UCSB. In this role, she conducted field sampling in local salt marshes, performed fish and invertebrate surveys, and contributed data to a larger restoration project. These hands-on experiences deepened her appreciation for the power of data, inspiring her to delve further into data science to amplify her contributions to marine science.
Currently, she is a master's student in Environmental Data Science at the University of California Santa Barbara Bren School. She aims to harness her analytical prowess in data science to drive impactful contributions to scientific research and sustainable solutions for marine coastal ecosystems. The interconnectedness of aquatic systems and climate change motivates her to seek innovative solutions to global challenges, grounded in a commitment to equity and resilience.
