Something About Me

Hi, my name is Kate Coulter and I am a fourth-year student at the University of California, Santa Barbara's College of Letters & Sciences, where I am pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies (BA) and getting my certification in the Technology Management Program. My interest in Technology Management stems from my desire to pursue a career at the intersection of
environmental issues and business practices. What draws me to this work is a genuine passion for protecting the natural environment, combined with a fascination for how modern technology and business practices can intersect to create sustainable solutions. I aim to leverage new technologies to further understand how corporations can combat environmental externalities using data analysis and predictive modeling. Upon completing my undergraduate degree, I plan
to enter the workforce with the long-term goal of eventually pursuing graduate studies to deepen my knowledge and advance my career in the sustainability sector. I am currently part of UCSB and UA's Equitable Agriculture and Environmental Management Program, specializing in GIS
visualization, programming, and data science. This program includes relevant coursework, career development, and learning communities, offering undergraduates opportunities to learn from noted experts in environmental sciences and agricultural economics. Some fun facts about me are
that I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain during the fall of my third year - where I studied a variety of culturally relevant social sciences, enjoy reading, and love playing tennis.
