Bio
Kimberlee Wong is a master's student in Environmental Data Science at the UCSB Bren School of Environmental Science and Management. She earned her bachelor's degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Geography and Environmental Studies from UCLA in 2024, where she developed a strong appreciation for data visualization and GIS mapping as tools to address pressing environmental challenges.
During her senior year at UCLA, Kimberlee participated in her program's capstone, working on a year-long research project in collaboration with the National Forestry School of Mbalmayo. Her experience working alongside Cameroonian students, who were deeply committed to forest rehabilitation, highlighted the critical need for improved data efficiency, which further fueled her interest in this field.
Eager to enhance her skills in modeling, data analysis, and data visualization, Kimberlee is excited to apply these competencies to tackling the environmental issues she has been passionate about since volunteering as an education interpreter at the Aquarium of the Pacific. She looks forward to entering the field of environmental data science, while supporting open science.
