Bio
Lauren Londoño's passion for environmental work was truly formed through her involvement in various environmental organizations. In high school, Lauren gave a TEDx Talk titled "There is No Away," which discussed the problems of plastic pollution in her community and the importance of individual action. Her interest in sustainability led her to California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo (SLO), where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a minor in Political Science. While living in San Luis Obispo, Lauren actively participated in many environmental organizations that deepened her love of California’s Central Coast. She was the president of the Cal Poly Surfrider Foundation, and served on Surfrider Foundation’s Student Leadership Council. She also managed the Energy Efficiency team at Cal Poly Green Campus, implementing conservation projects, expanding educational programs, and empowering student clubs to make a greater impact. In her role as Wheat2School Garden Coordinator, she developed agriculture and nutrition education for elementary schools in SLO County. Lauren was drawn to the Bren School because of her interest in advancing policies that promote equitable and sustainable food systems. At Bren, she specializes in Environmental Policy, Business and Sustainability, with an emphasis in Strategic Environmental Communications.
