Something About Me

Currently in my third-year of pursuing my B.S. in Environmental Studies, with a Spatial Studies
minor and a strong interest in soil conservation, I plan to work as an Environmental
consultant, utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques to assess the risks associated with climate change. My childhood centered on outdoor sport. Which instilled in me my deep appreciation for the numerous ways nature can enrich our lives. At UCSB, I’ve enjoyed many opportunities of spending time on the beaches, which are considerably cleaner than those
in my hometown. This experience has strengthened my resolve to work in conservation. I particularly enjoy field work, something I have had the opportunity of doing in two internships–at
the Storke Ranch, where I worked on the restoration of the vernal pools, and at the UCSB Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological restoration, where I have joined UCSB PHD
student Jennifer Schlauch’s team working on coastal wetland bee conservation. In my free time, I enjoy rugby and music production.
