Bio
Lilli Bennett graduated from the University of Texas in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability Studies and a minor in Economics. During her time at UT she researched and developed bioplastics to be used in the apparel industry in place of plastics that end up in the landfill. This project continued into the summer of 2021 when she worked at the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology and designed an exhibition for the schools’ library. As an intern at Madder Home, she learned about plant-based dyes through dye experimentation and provided marketing assistance for the company. Lilli wishes to continue studying sustainable materials in her Masters at the Bren School. She plans to specialize in Business and Sustainability with an interest in the Eco-Entrepreneurship program. In the long run, she would like to create a business that replaces single-use plastics in the apparel industry with accessible and scalable sustainable materials.
