Something About Me
I’m a third-year student at UCSB, majoring in Environmental Studies, with a concentration in Ecology. I’m currently doing research with my TA Jacob Weverka on plant root analysis, specifically on carbon allocation during growth. I’m hoping to work in the field of mycology or ecosystem dynamics in the soil and animals in the area. I find truly interesting and ecologically amazing the instance of reintroducing wolves into Yellowstone National Park a few years back and I imagine looking at the soil’s response to the shift would only ignite the fire I feel related to soil science. To understand these topics, I would be ecstatic to find an internship with field or lab work to further study these processes. I’d love to conduct research in a National or State park looking at different plant species native/non-native to the area. Like many who love understanding the great outdoors at different levels, I enjoy backpacking, running, and surfing-virtually anything outside.
