Something About Me

Hailing from Hawthorne, California, Maya is an Environmental Studies & and English double major. Maya hopes to study neuroscience in graduate school, researching the connections between pollution and deteriorating mental and physical health. A previous SEEDS Scholar, Maya has conducted research into implicit bias in data science and language models & Freshman Summer Start Program participant in 2021. Maya likes to read medical journals in her spare time, watch film essays on various cultural phenomenas present in pop culture and likes to keep up to date on the latest in medical research.
