Bio
Nicholas (Nick) Yoshioka is specializing in Business and Sustainability with a Communications focus. He graduated with honors from UCLA in 2023 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a minor in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science. His undergraduate career was spent understanding coral reef ecosystems and the challenges they face from human development and climate change. Recognizing the consequences of these threats on marine biodiversity, his interest in coral conservation grew into a passion for managing sustainable solutions. Nick went on to work as an Assistant Project Manager at All About Waste, a sustainability consulting company. In this role, he conducted waste audits for industries in pursuit of LEED and TRUE Zero Waste certifications. He became familiar with the regulatory compliance requirements across California and crafted reports outlining waste management strategies designed to increase diversion rates and reduce landfill contributions. At Bren, Nick is expanding his knowledge in sustainability management. He aims to develop innovative strategies that enhance the relationship between corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship, driving meaningful change in how businesses engage with environmental challenges.
