Something About Me

A third-year Environmental Studies and Geography major with an emphasis in Geographic Information Systems and environmental health, Olivia is deeply committed to understanding the intersection between climate change and environmental health. As the Public Outreach Coordinator for the Associated Student Department of Public Worms, she leverages her knowledge of composting, vermicomposting, and sustainable gardening to develop impactful informational resources. Olivia also works as a Laboratory Technician in Dr. Cherie Briggs' lab, where she conducts dissections and DNA analysis on macroinvertebrates, specializing in Sierra Nevada species. Her field research at the Sierra Nevada Aquatic Research Laboratory involves monitoring endangered frog populations and assessing disease risks. Olivia is also an undergraduate researcher and fellow at the Bren School, where she focuses on policy development to tackle environmental challenges in the Bahamas. In her free time, you may find her teaching yoga at Corepower Yoga, climbing, backpacking, running, or crocheting.
