Bio
Qusai Bhaijeewala graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. His ultimate goal is to create a social enterprise with the mission of saving pristine wildlife and improving people’s quality of life. Consequently, Qusai has been accumulating work experience over the years. Qusai first worked in San Francisco at a utility scale solar company in the origination department, then as a research analyst in Shanghai for an environmental consulting firm. Both of these positions required a sales and business growth mindset. After Shanghai, Qusai worked at a solar nonprofit organization called GRID Alternatives. They install solar systems exclusively for homeowners in underserved communities at no cost. At GRID, Qusai used his business sense to reconcile 1.5 million dollars of un-invoiced project funding, helped over 540 families with the solar application process, and supervised a staff of four employees. GRID showed Qusai that there does not have to be a separation between environmental solutions, environmental justice, and business. Furthermore, this has solidified Qusai’s commitment to his goal of creating a sustainable enterprise, which has led him to Bren to pursue the Eco-Entrepreneurship focus.
