MESM 2021
Bio
Renata Massion graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy and International Development. During her undergraduate career, Renata focused her efforts towards mitigating the effects of food insecurity in New Orleans. She worked with local school and community gardens, served as president of the Food Recovery Network on campus, and conducted research on native plant biology with a local native tribe. After seeing how the economic and social challenges she was working to combat were inherently connected to, and often caused by climate change, Renata chose to shift her focus towards environmental science. She plans to specialize in Corporate Environmental Management and Economics and Politics of the Environment at the Bren School. Post-graduation, she aims to continue her work at the intersection of social and environmental justice. Renata is pursuing a career in environmental policy that works toward full corporate transparency and accountability.
