Samantha Shanny-Csik

Bio

Sam is the Data Science Programs Manager and a lecturer at Bren, where she's working to coordinate, develop and teach data science curricula. In a previous life, she was a marine ecologist who was incredibly intimidated by all things data and programming. Thanks to super supportive in-person and online communities, she found her new path in data science education and is motivated to find exciting and accessible ways to share technical skills with others. She holds a BS in Marine Biology from Northeastern University and an MS in Ecology, Evolution & Marine Biology from UC Santa Barbara.
