Bio
Samuel Desré graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara in the fall of 2019 with a degree in Environmental Studies as well as a minor in Spatial Studies. Originally from France, Samuel moved to California during his teenage years and was in awe of America’s public lands and wildlife. During his undergraduate studies, he was focused on environmental law and policy. After graduating, he had the opportunity to work in Glacier National Park, at the Oakland Zoo, and in Grand Teton National Park for Teton Science School. Through those great experiences, Samuel became more interested in tackling environmental justice and conservation issues through the lens of education, with a focus on equitable outdoor and wildlife recreation opportunities. He is looking forward to his time at the Bren school, as he believes it will give him the interdisciplinary tools necessary to work collaboratively on complex conservation based educational projects.
