Bio
Sarah Hamilton graduated from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, an additional major in Engineering and Public Policy, and a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. At CMU, she conducted research on the effectiveness and feasibility of policies pertaining to the environmental sustainability and equity of the Pittsburgh food system. Upon graduating, she was awarded the H.A. Thomas Senior Scholarship Award and the Civil and Environmental Engineering Research Award. 
 
 After receiving her Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) certification in 2017, she became committed to pursuing a career that will protect vulnerable marine ecosystems through a combination of engineering and policy solutions. Sarah is now concentrating in Corporate Environmental Management and Coastal Marine Resource Management at the Bren School. She hopes to eventually work on expanding protections for marine ecosystems through public policy and changes in business management.
