Something About Me

Born and raised in San Diego, Schuyler is a third year ES student with an emphasis in ecosystem restoration and a double major in religious studies, in which he explores the intersectionality between sacred spaces and ecologically sensitive habitat areas.  An impassioned environmentalist, Schuyler serves the Santa Barbara community both as the Watershed Protection Intern for the Environmental Defense Center and as a Landscape Restoration Technician at Channel Islands Restoration.  Experienced in native plant and bird identification, Schuyler also assists with vegetation monitoring for the Nature Conservancy's ice plant removal project at Dangermond Preserve, dedicating his efforts to ensuring future generations retain access to the myriad natural wonders that define Santa Barbara.  In his spare time, Schuyler can be found bouldering, birding, backpacking, or otherwise embarking on a quest to a new National Park.
