Bio
Yuki is broadly interested in the function of bacterial communities with regard to management of polluted environments, as well as applications of microbiology in bioremediation. Before attending the Bren school, Yuki worked in the biotech industry, and has experience in synthetic biology and infectious disease diagnostics. She graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology, where she researched protein evolution and gain of function mutations in regards to antibiotic resistance, and trained undergraduate students on basic lab techniques.
