Bio
Trevor Maggart graduated from Macalester College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology. Upon graduating, he completed a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer for the non-profit College Possible which focuses on education equity in higher learning. Following his year in AmeriCorps, Trevor worked as an independent contract geologist for a mineral exploration firm in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It was there that he developed an interest in water security as he observed the environmental degradation brought upon by the mining industry. In 2020, he left his job as a lab technician and completed a hydrology field camp at the University of Minnesota. Inspired by the fight of the Anishinaabe people protesting the Line 3 pipeline in northern Minnesota, Trevor came to the Bren School to pursue a specialization in Water Resources Management. He hopes to help build resilient communities and work with them to develop tools to protect their natural resources from exploitative outside interests.
