Bren-Environmental Studies Fellow 2024 - 2025
Something About Me
In my fourth year at UCSB I’m an Environmental Studies and Sociology double major. My two fields of study have helped me build on my passion for helping local underserved communities. Growing up in the central valley of California, I have seen first-hand the detrimental impacts that commercial agriculture can have on a community’s health and wellness; poor air quality, polluted water supplies, agriculture caused drought, to name a few. At UCSB, I’ve focused on agriculture, specifically on how sustainable farming, agroecology, and traditional ecological knowledge can both transform our food systems and make the populations that rely on them more resilient to climate change. My experience volunteering with the Environmental Affairs Board and in the Customer Service position at the UCSB Campus Store have made me confident with engaging in public roles but I would love to find a job or internship that would allow me to work in the field!
