Caribou in a field

Faculty Advisors: Christina (Naomi) Tague, Lee Hannah

Client: Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative

Description

Our objective is to develop a conservation strategy that balances human and environmental needs in the Mackenzie River Basin (MRB) of Canada using caribou as an "umbrella" species. By modeling historical and future caribou range and valuing natural resource potential in the MRB, we can find solutions that meet conservation goals while minimizing economic losses.
