Past Chair, Bren Alumni Advisory Council
Member, Dean’s Council

Both UC Santa Barbara and Bren alumni make up a significant part of our individual giving community. Brennies in particular recognize the value of their high-caliber graduate education and its impact on shaping them into sought-after environmental professionals. Through their ongoing support in a variety of capacities –as donors, guest lecturers, advisors, Group Project clients, employers, connectors, and more- alumni give back to advance the careers of other future solutions-oriented environmental leaders.

MESM ’03 graduate, John Onderdonk, is one of these individuals. Following his graduation from Bren with a Master of Environmental Science and Management with a specialization in Corporate Environmental Management, John and his wife, Katrina, have remained actively involved through a multitude of ways. They have given annually to the Bren School since John graduated, and since 2014, they have supported named student fellowships that have made numerous Fellowships possible.

As a founder and Past Chair of the Bren Alumni Advisory Council and a member of the Dean’s Council, John has acted as an invaluable connector between Bren and our greater alumni community, enabling the school to retain its high standing as a leading center for training environmental problem-solvers.
