Incoming MEDS Student Orientation
MEDS Student Orientation
The MEDS Student Orientation is required for all incoming students and will take place Thursday, July 29, 2021 through Friday, July 30, 2021 at NCEAS and Bren Hall. The first day of Summer instruction is Monday, August 2, 2021.
Orientation will introduce you to Bren and NCEAS staff, campus resources, important MEDS program information, degree requirements, UCSB and Bren policies, and, most importantly, your classmates! With multiple team building exercises and activities, this is a great opportunity for you to connect with your cohort before Summer courses begin. Please note that orientation is mandatory and students are expected to block off both days entirely. Students who must miss orientation, or part of orientation, for any reason, must let the Student Affairs and Admissions team know (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Please note that the times are subject to change, but we will try our best to adhere to the published schedule. While it is our hope that orientation can take place at NCEAS, the Bren School will be complying with guidance from federal, state and county governments regarding social distancing and gathering protocols, which are yet to be determined. Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this time of uncertainty. For your reference, you can see a UCSB campus map here. For information about getting to campus, navigating to Bren Hall, where to park or get off the bus, etc., please see the Transportation section of the Campus Resources page.
