This project is an initiative of The Observatory of Environmental Justice (OEJ). The OEJ is a network where scholars, students, and practitioners can study how inequalities interact with the region’s environmental issues, emphasizing institutional frameworks and political dynamics. This data-driven fellowship compiled and generated data to analyze the factors influencing water resources management policies in Mexico under the climate change framework to support environmental justice in Latin America, as water scarcity and conflicts are growing in the region. This project highlights the importance of turning data into relevant information to understand complex and multifaceted water conflicts.

Ariana and Sabrina’s Impact:

  • Generated visual representations of water-related policies in Mexico.
  • Compiled and elaborated multiple datasets to produce a comprehensive analysis.
  • Analyzed how socioeconomic factors relate to the presence of water and climate policies at the municipality level.
